Most believers are ignorant that they have what it takes to confront daily challenges. They seek for help everywhere yet ignore the gifts in them. Ignorant of their gift potential, they fail to nurture, cultivate and utilize it. They rather succumb to the onslaught of their daily challenges. Their smoldering gifts have denied them of divine illumination and empowerment. We are numbed by our bills that leave us frozen in despair, bitten in our frosted immorality, we engage in our religious activities without passion because our gifts are not ablaze. We are distracted by our daily pursuits and we neglect to fan into flames our gifts that will illuminate our path with divine counsel.

We ‘trust’ a person because they are filled with and influenced by the Holy Spirit. We trust the Holy Spirit in them to influence them to do and not to do certain things. A man can do what good he has promised or we expect from them because the Spirit quickens them to do so. Therefore, it is the Spirit in them that we trust and not the ‘flesh’ man. God said the one who trusts in Him is blessed. It is the God in the person that we trust and not the person himself. Therefore, to ‘trust’ a man, first find out if there is God in him.

RECEIVING THE PROMISE OF GOD
Sometimes too, consciously or unconsciously, we refuse to heed to the instructions because we don’t believe or have faith in the promise. The promise seems so big and we are overwhelmed by it, and it is hard to believe in it. Sometimes too, by our human mindset, we don’t see any bearing between our present situation and the promise, therefore consciously or unconsciously, we refuse to believe it. Right now you are barren yet God says your children shall bring you great honor. You are not well educated yet God says you will write profound insightful books. You don’t even have a penny in your pocket yet God says you will be a millionaire. You simply can’t bring yourself to believe because it is beyond you.
Faithlessness, however, cripples us to take a step in obeying the instruction. Remember, impatience is a fruit of faithlessness. If we have faith in what God has promised, we will patiently wait for it.

LOVE YOUR ENEMIES!
Do you know the Bible says you should love your enemies, pray for them which spitefully use you and persecute you? Do you know the Bible says it is blessed to give than to receive? Brethren, when we begin to imagine the way that God wants us to live as His children, if we are natural, we cannot live it. Naturally, we can forgive people if they offend us. It can be once, twice, but 70 x 7 seems impossible. We might say that the person is deliberately or intentionally offending us. We will feel we’ve been taken for granted and so we cannot forgive.

STAND FOR THE TRUTH!
Maybe you have even regretted telling a truth to a loved one, because your words have been twisted against you or they might have even tarnished your image. You might have cried in your closet and murmured regretfully, “I wish I had kept quiet! Look at where I have found myself now!” It is just as Job cursed his day and Jeremiah wished he died in his mother’s womb!
If you are making confessions like these men, I want to tell you that the Lord didn’t call you to shame but unto glory and virtue! God is love, and everyone that loves the Lord lives by the truth. Maybe you have sacrificed your whole being, committing to the things of God and have uncompromising stance in the truth of God’s Word but still finds yourself in a position that looks like those amount to nothing. Failure and shame seem to be the result, but no, that isn’t it! God is saying, “I am well pleased with you…”

The mere fact that you are failing does not mean that God has not sent you. God sent Joseph yet look at the struggles he went through. He is testing your faithfulness. God sent Jesus to the cross though He was obedient to His calling. Your setback must not cause you to deny your faithfulness. God will promote you to a position that your results cannot attain.

THE WORD OF GOD IS NOT BOUND!
You can be in your “prison” of setbacks or impediments and yet God will still manifest His word in due time. Your confinement does not mean that God is not working on your behalf. Though you are expressing such setbacks the word of God is actively working outside the zone of your confinement to fulfill the promise. The manifestation of His promise is not dependent on your experiences but on Him. Therefore what happens to you must not diminish your faith in the promise.

NOT BY YOUR MIGHT!
There are many who have been given incredible promises of the Lord and yet they lack the means to manifest such promises. Such know not a man. They lack the human concepts, strategies or potential to conceive the divine promise. There are many of such who have been called into ministry and yet have no theological training. They lack the eloquence or oratory skills needed for good communication of the gospel. Some become incoherent when exposed to a congregation and yet the promise of the Lord to them is that they will preach the gospel.

This time, because you have acknowledged your God, he will lead you and make the right choices for you. Your reputation has been wiped off because of the people you once had an encounter with and you are unable to defend yourself. But, I am here to assure you that the latter glory shall be greater than the former!
